I’m curious why you focused more on the points made by people opposed to river restoration through alteration of the dam than you did on delving further into the positive outcomes that are driving the dam owners’ efforts and, most importantly, the rich educational content shared through informational exhibits on display for three hours and the deeply knowledgeable panelists who made themselves available throughout for both one-on-one conversations and open panel discussion. It feels like there is an opportunity for education and awareness of local families and students. Perhaps a follow-up story for more through and balanced coverage?
Hi Kara, This wasn’t an opinion piece, but rather just plain reporting of what I saw. I was only able to attend from 8:00 to 9:30, and there’s no question the tone of the comments during that time were in opposition to the project. Thanks for your comment though.
Ah. Got it. If you only attended less than half of the event, then I see how you could only report on a small part of it. I'm sorry you missed the rest, which included the informational exhibits containing a wealth of facts, as well as all the positive one-on-one conversations each of the panelists had with guests for that first hour of the event (6-7pm). In case you missed our short documentary film, here is a link: https://f.io/jG7_Z5S1.
